Students will critique films from various viewpoints and fulfill writing assignments with different critical approaches toward film. Learn how to use pens, charcoals, colored pencil and pastels. Develop your eye for composition. Learn how to get people and faces to look right. Learn different ways to approach creativity.

Practice the skills you learned in drawing two while creating more self-directed artwork. Learn about the creative process.

Learn how to mix colors and make amazing paintings in tempera and watercolors. It is recommended but not required that you take drawing one first.

Continue to develop your skills in acrylic, or learn how to use oil paints. Learn how to stretch canvas. This class has fewer, more student directed assignments.

Prerequisite: Drawing 1 & 2, Painting 1. Drawing 3 & Painting 2 recommended.
There is no written AP test for these classes. Instead, students create a portfolio of artworks which are submitted to AP digitally. The emphasis in these classes is developing the creative process and deepening student voice.

This Jewelry/metalsmithing course will introduce students to metal/jewelry design as an art form. Student's will learn basic techniques necessary for the design and creation of jewelry and small three-dimensional forms. Students will learn and use basic metal construction processes—sawing, filing, soldering, finishing, and casting, as well as, piercing, soldering, surface texturing, polishing and forming to complete final projects.

An intermediate explanatory course in jewelry making, which covers advanced methods, and builds on the basic skills learned in Jewelry 1. The inventive use of materials and exploration of advanced techniques such as etching, fusing, forming, raising, and moving parts, enameling, and Lapidary are covered.

Create 3 Dimensional artworks. Use problem solving skills to experiment in building strong structures with different kinds of materials. Use 3D printing pens, sculpt with paper, clay, glue, wood, wire and other fun materials.

This is the next step in your lettering and calligraphy educational experience. It’s a semester long course in which students build on the skills learned in Calligraphy 1. This course also emphasizes the instruction of brush lettering, not learned in Calligraphy 1.
