Woodworking (Semester) | 89021 | (CTE) | 9-12 | .5
This is the first instructional course in a sequence of courses that prepare individuals to use power tools and machinery. This is an activity-oriented course open to all students that covers the fundamentals of woodworking. Students receive instruction related to safety, proper use of tools, operation of woodworking equipment, joinery, wood finishing, and the many processes used to transform lumber into finished products. Student projects are an important part of the course. This course prepares students for advanced woodworking courses. Participation in the SkillsUSA youth organization may be an integral part of this course.

This course is designed for students who love to work with their hands and create craft and small wood projects. Do you see projects on pintrest that interest you? Do you walk through hobby lobby and see wood crafts that you'd like to try? This class will teach you the basics of making your own wood crafts. The focus is on small wood projects that allow students to use their creativity and personal style. Students do not need any previous woods experience for this course.

Experience the excitement of building your own ukulele! Our workshop will offer guidance and best materials to help you craft your own personalized instrument. This class takes students through the process of building your own small but fantastic instrument only. It is not a music class.
